Helping Hurting Teens

What is the Teens Trauma Healing program?

The Teens Trauma Healing program is an adaptation of the Classic Adult Trauma Healing program, designed for teens ages of 13 and 18. Using the material “Healing the Wounds of Teens’ Trauma,” teens engage in an interactive, experiential process to help them externalize the pain of heart wounds inflicted by trauma. In small groups led by trained facilitators who are experienced in working with teens, this program uses stories, Scripture, art, music, and games to help them find answers to a series of ten questions, each of them a separate session. These questions are carefully designed to lead teens into a process of self-examination and ultimately to recognize their need for a relationship with God as their healer.

How can I participate with this Trauma Healing ministry?

Currently, we are not offering trainings to be certified as a Teen Trauma Healing facilitator, because this training program necessitates an in-person component of working directly with teens, which is not possible due to Covid-19. Additionally, it is not advised to do online Trauma Healing Groups with this age group due to the sensitive nature of this program and the challenges of providing adequate mental health support to them in an online setting. We will update this website if anything changes.

In the meantime, we encourage you to go to the Resources section, download and use, “UNSTUCK: A Teen Guide for Living in Uncertain Times.”
