Partners

American Bible Society’s ministry partners in New York City include:

New York City Leadership Center (NYCLC)

For the last 20 years, the New York City Leadership Center has empowered Christian leaders from around the world to impact their cities. American Bible Society works alongside NYCLC to accelerate scripture engagement through the co-creation and distribution of contextualized resources for leaders.

Saturate NYC

Saturate NYC is a rapidly growing coalition of local churches and non-profits that are strategically aligning in every NYC zip code to saturate the city with the message of the Gospel through acts of prayer and service. To date, American Bible Society has developed an entire suite of thematic scripture engagement materials—in both English and Spanish—to undergird this grassroots movement. This includes building a comprehensive web platform and app with mapping abilities to connect people with churches and local social service agencies.

Christian Community Development Association (CCDA)

CCDA is a network of Christians committed to seeing people and communities holistically restored. Founded in 1989, this network represents 200 ministries in the region and over 1500 nationwide. Currently, American Bible Society is a collaborative partner in the development of Immerse, a small group curriculum that will empower leaders to approach community development from a biblical lens.

NY CityServe

CityServe was officially launched in the fall of 2014 as a Gospel-driven movement that identifies, develops, and nurtures church-connected, neighborhood-focused collaborations throughout the boroughs of NYC. American Bible Society helps provide contextualized resources and tactical guidance to infuse Scripture engagement into this burgeoning movement.

The National Latino Evangelical Coalition (NaLEC)

NaLEC represents over 3,000 Latino churches, a very sizeable demographic group in the NY Metro region. The Bible is at the center of their initiatives on the issues of poverty, immigration, and education. Drawing leaders to the biblical foundations of these issues is at the core of what they do and will be a key bridge for American Bible Society to promote further scripture engagement. American Bible Society is working with NaLEC leaders to create contextualized resources for Latinos living in NYC.

Roman Catholic Ministries

Approximately 1 in 3 New Yorkers are Catholic, making it the largest denominational group in the city. To reach this important group, American Bible Society has launched a multi-tiered strategy to help deepen scripture engagement. Projects in this portfolio leverage the power of the radio, TV, Web, ancient practices like Lectio Divina, and the influence of Catechismal education to provide onramps for personal engagement. Partners include the Diocese of Brooklyn, Newark, Bridgeport and trusted ministries like Fundacion Ramon Pane and Descubriendo el Siglo XXI.
